Incurable virus sparks global health concerns. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Details ๐Ÿ‘‡

The Marburg virus, also known as the โ€œBleeding Eyeโ€ virus, has raised global health concerns due to its high fatality rate and rapid spread. The virus, closely related to Ebola, causes severe hemorrhagic fever and has a fatality rate of 50-90%. Itโ€™s transmitted through contact with bodily fluids or infected animals, such as bats.

Rwanda reported its first case in September 2024, with 66 confirmed cases and 15 deaths. Although no new cases have been reported for over 28 days, the World Health Organization is monitoring the situation. The virus earned its nickname due to symptoms like spontaneous bleeding from the eyes and gums. Early symptoms include fever, headache, and gastrointestinal issues, while later stages involve internal bleeding and organ failure.

Currently, no vaccine or antiviral treatment exists, though supportive care can improve survival. Travelers to affected regions are advised to exercise caution and avoid high-risk areas. Researchers are working on developing vaccines.

The ongoing outbreak highlights the importance of global health preparedness, rapid containment, and continued research to combat deadly diseases like Marburg.
