Barry Gibb shared that his wife, whom he’s been married to for more than 50 years, had chances to spend time with a well-known actor.

The Bee Gees were a really famous and successful music group with three brothers – Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. Barry Gibb, one of the brothers, is still alive today. He recently shared something interesting.

Barry Gibb is a British musician known for being part of the Bee Gees. They gave us awesome songs like “How Deep Is Your Love,” “More Than A Woman,” and the classic “Stayin’ Alive.”

Barry was famous for his high singing voice and also for being a great songwriter. His songwriting skills were so good that he got as many awards as John Lennon and Paul McCartney.

Barry Gibb, along with his brothers, got into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1994 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997 as part of the Bee Gees. He also received honors like being made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 2002 and getting knighted in 2018.

Even though Barry had a successful career, his personal life had some tough moments. He lost both his brothers from the Bee Gees. His love life had its challenges until he met Linda Gray, a former Miss Edinburgh. They got married on September 1, 1970, and have been together through thick and thin.

However, there was a difficult time when a famous actor tried to win over Linda Gray and come between her and Barry.

The brothers had a tough time with being famous, and they started using substances to cope with it. Barry Gibb’s brother, Andy, passed away in 1988 at just 30 years old. Maurice died in 2003 during an operation, and at that time, Barry and Maurice were not talking to each other. Robin died in 2012 because of cancer.

Barry Gibb didn’t turn to substances or get addicted, and he credits his wife for helping him through it. He said, “My brothers had their struggles, but I was married to a woman who wouldn’t let me go down that path. I could bring drugs home, but she made sure they ended up in the toilet. I was lucky.”

Barry has faced a lot of loss, not only his brothers but also his parents. He learned that life keeps going, and you have to keep going with it. After losing his brothers, Barry started his solo career.

Before marrying Linda Gray, Barry Gibb was married to Maureen Bates. It was his first marriage, and it lasted for four years. They got divorced in July 1970, just two months before he married Linda Gray. However, his marriage to Linda has stood strong over time, and she supported him through his toughest moments.

Reports say that Barry and Linda felt a connection right from their first meeting. They met on the TV show “Top of the Pops,” where the Bee Gees were set to perform their new song “Massachusetts.”

Barry and Linda sneaked off to a nearby studio to spend some time alone, as per sources. Looking back on their first meeting, Barry said, “She was the hostess for one week, the week ‘Massachusetts’ was No. 1. And she’d never heard of it. We just saw each other across the room, and something happened.”

Barry Gibb and Linda have been a couple for more than 50 years. They have five children and seven grandchildren. In 2009, they became American citizens. Even before they met naturally, a friend of theirs tried to set them up.

Barry mentioned that about 25 years ago, Australian tennis star Evonne Goolagong tried to get him to go out with Linda. Barry also shared that Linda was not short of admirers, and even famous actor Steve McQueen showed interest in her. Barry recalled a time when they were at the Record Plant in Los Angeles, and Steve McQueen tried to take Linda on his motorbike. Despite the attention from others, the couple remained faithful to each other, and their loyalty has led to a beautiful life together.
